ULTRA-DISTANCE veteran runner Joasia Zakrzewski continues to show that distance and time is no object as she ran the Plasnet Yorkshire Marathon at York, finishing as first veteran over-40, second woman and 41st overall in a fine time of 2hr 54min 46sec.

A week later, Joasia, an experienced international runner, ran the Heart of Eden Half-Marathon in Appleby-in-Westmorland, finishing fourth overall, first woman and first veteran, recording 1hr 24min 03sec.

Meanwhile, Leeds-based cross-country international Dan Garbutt is steadily getting back to full fitness with a convincing win at the Isle of Axholme Half- Marathon in Epworth, Lincolnshire. Conditions were far from ideal due to the windy conditions but Dan was satisfied as it was still a good work-out for him, winning the race by over two minutes when recording 74.53.

In the Northern Counties XC Relays at Graves Park, Sheffield, Durham City Harriers fielded

five full teams, all performing well against strong opposition.
